The Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life just released their “U.S. Religious Landscape Survey” gauging the condition of Christian faith in America, including each faiths’ demographic breakdowns. Real interesting stuff:
- Nearly half of all Americans leave their faith for another, or no religious affiliation at all.
- Of all Christian faiths, Mormons have the largest families (no surprise there)
- Of all Christian faiths, Mormons are most likely to marry within their own faith (Hindus beat us out, 90% to 83%)
- While we boast many great habits of health, discipline and industry, we are not the richest or most educated members of the Christian faiths
- The LDS Church comprises 1.6% (careful not to fall for the 1.7% figure– that includes the RLDS) of all religions in the U.S.
There’s a heapin’ helpin’ of interesting stuff in the survey, so check it out here yourself.
