Rough Stone Rolling

The political buzz over Mitt Romney has shifted to a higher gear this past week, especially regarding his courtship with the evangelicals and Religious Right. It’s a great opportunity for the Church to clarify itself to the nation, regardless of the turnout. As I expressed in a previous entry, I’m entertained by how some evangelical leaders– should they choose to go with Mitt as a “lesser evil”– need to backpedal their stances on the Mormon Church. If it is the church of the devil, how can they justify voting for one of its minions to the most powerful position on the planet?

I don’t know who I’m going to vote for yet. As of this entry, I’m not leaning toward any candidate, though I am leaning away from a few. Right now, as far as Mitt is concerned, I’m more interested in his winning over the Christian power block than the election. For me, that would be the victory.
